My friend just got a call. He has to go to hospital tonight for surgery tomorrow. Very short notice - socialized medicine, you know.

The surgery was this morning, but I haven't heard anything yet. Not that I expect to - his wife is at the hospital, I'm sure.
Gotta love NHS - 2 months of waiting because they forgot to schedule the operation, then a phone call saying come right now, we're doing it tomorrow.
No time to get worried and worked up, I guess.

He's still in hospital, hopefully getting out any day now.
They've removed some of the tumors, and did some prep work for the next (bigger) operation. It should be in about 6 weeks, I think.
But this one went pretty well, with none of the screw-ups and drama as the last one.

I'll keep him and his family in my thoughts.
This is the end of the thread.
