I just watched "Thumbsucker", which was sorta quirky comedy, sorta warm-n-wonderful. Overall enjoyable.

We just rented it. Disturbing, but quite good. I like Bill Nighy, although he's Not a Good Guy in it.
The final scene, by the way, is so brilliant it makes up for a multitude of sins...

I just saw that one too. It didn't work so well. I had to keep turning it off. I was pretty anxiety-stricken about having just started anti-depressants, and the whole plot about the drug company was somewhat distressing. Ralph Fiennes and Rachel Weisz were definitely eye-candy however. And the cinematography was exquisite. thanks for suggestion.

That's funny! That's hilarious!
It's a line from the movie Animal House. The frat boys get put on probation by the Dean. However they were already on probation. So he says "Then as of this moment you're on "Double-Secret Probation!"

I love "Empire of the Sun" the movie......the path of this kid losing his innocence in wartime, separated from his parents in Japan-in a camp with British and American prisoners...interesting characters, interesting to watch how they are affected, how drastically things change, how a kid could make sense of it all
not for everyone, but I find it really interesting

Semi-dark, but quirky: Fargo and American Beauty.
Have you ever seen Enchanted April? It's a wonderful film about four women who go on holiday together in Italy. It's romantic, clever and the photography is gorgeous.

Do you like older movies? "The Horn Blows At Midnight," "His Girl Friday," "The Miracle of Morgan's Creek," "Arsenic and Old Lace," or maybe "Nothing Sacred."
Newer movies? That's harder for me... I can't think of anything we've seen lately that would work for light and frothy... I'll keep trying to think...
Then again, I hate to admit how completely idiotic most of my choices would be...

Watch out for 'Happiness' then. You won't like it. It's in the comedy section at the video shop (black). I'm in the same situation you are (nutcase, depressive meltdown) and I have to be careful too.

Well, for soundtracks, I liked "Donny Darko" and "Garden State", but especially "Happiness" for having the front to use Mandy by Barry Manilow and something, I forget what, by the Bee Gees.
