I need to keep myself busy for the next couple of days while I wait for test results that will show whether or not my breast lump is really just a fibroadenoma. I'm getting anxious.
I'm going to wake up at 10 tomorrow instead of sleeping in until 2. I'm going to get up and then go for a walk. I will eat a healthy breakfast. I will clean up my room. I will study for next semester. I might buy a hamster. If I buy a hamster I will take pictures and upload them. I will count calories and exercise some more.

Hi Deneb,
Definitely get a hamster, that would be a happy diversion. Excercise is good, too, listen to music or a book on tape/cd so your thoughts don't wander into the worry zone.

Deneb I like the idea of a hampster too. Remember how happy Hammie and Sophie made you. Love Phillipa

I third the hamster idea. Actually, all the things you listed sound fairly healthy. You're doing better than I tend to; my way of dealing with that kind of anxiety is playing mindless games on the internet all day.
Props and best wishes.

Hi Deneb,
I'm trying to distract myself too.
Here's what I've done today:I went to the grocery store with a list that I made yesterday in a moment of lucidity.
Then I came home and cut up all my vegetables and put them in containers. Now I have a virtual salad bar. I will be able to make lunch tomorrow, saving 5.50, over buying it at a cafe at work.
I bought chicken breasts, and used a heavy pan to pound them really thin. Since I'm cooking for one these days, I rolled up the chicken breasts with ham and swiss cheese on the inside, secured them with toothpicks and put them in individual freezer bags for a rainy day.
Then I was mopey for a long while (not that I wasn't mopey when I was puttering about the kitchen, but I was somewhat distracted with smashing meat) Pounding meat is Highly Recommended, as anti-depressant & anti-anxiety; should you happen to discover that you have no yeast with which to make bread.
I walked to the pharmacy to pick up my prescriptions and buy a carton of epsom salts, and get more vitamins and fishy oils.
Then I got myself together, made dinner. It took 8 minutes to make: pan- seared steak, red salad (radicchio, red bell peppers, sliced radishes, feta and vinaigrette) with berries and (WAY too much) whipped cream for dessert.
Then I moped some more
I painted my fingernails. (Clear)Then I got out my little dixie cups, and laid out 2 rows of 7 cups. I put my vitamins and such and my medicines in morning and evening doses. (I've been forgetting to take them regularaly (the supplements, not the meds!)
Next I'm going to have a long soaky bath (spa night!) and put me to bed early, so that I can get up early tomorrow and exercise.
I would Luuuuv to see your hamster, if you get one. They're my favorite rodents :)
I have not planned to do anything bad to myself today. It was tricky, but I managed to leave the demons off of my list.

I'm going to the pet store tomorrow to see if they have hamsters. They don't have any at the animal shelter.
I didn't do as much cleaning as I'd hoped, but tomorrow is another day.

It sounds like you're treating yourself well and had a nice day. Pounding meat sounds fun! lol
If I were living alone I don't know if I would have the motivation to cook for myself. I'd probably end up eating frozen entrees.
Your red salad sounds yummy. I want to make a salad too.
I hope you had a nice bath.

That's great Deneb,
I'm glad you went to the animal shelter. It makes you feel needed, doesn't it?Yes, tomorrow is another day.
Too bad there can't be a little house-elf to "redirect" my clutter while I sleep.
that would be too cool. All in all, a pretty good sunday for both of us huh?

I hope you find a fluffly creature to call your own in the next couple of days. ((hamster))
