Anyone know if a small dog toy poodle and a cookapoo puppy will get along and is it better to get a male for our male or a female. Teddy is neutered so no breeding but he's so jelous of anyone sharing us. We're going back today. So please respond ASAP Love Phillipa

There is really no way to predict how the pups will get along. The genders don't really make any difference. Since dogs are generally social, "pack" animals, the odds are that they'll get along. At least eventually.

I've heard that it is best to mix a male w/ a female. But I also think what the above poster said was true. Female-female is a bad combo, but I've had okay luck w/ it.
Post puppy pix, okay!?
best,

I've always had poor luck with male-male, unless they were both neutered very very young.
Once the testosterone hits the brain, you can't reverse it all the way.
I've got the most perfect pack at the moment, with my young dogs. Two girls and a boy. You always see them piled up together in a big doggy lump, and there's never ever a cross growl.
So the most important things may be to look for an easygoing pup. Especially if your dog is used to being an only. Good luck and have fun!
