heh. lots of times honesty hasn't paid off for me. honesty is important but so is forgiveness.

understandable to be concerned about honesty when that has been issue in the past. we're sure many ppl here have warm fuzzies for you...not bombs ;)
welcome! since we did not notice your arrival to the newbie board back in June of this year.
just remember that this board doesn't have any editing after submitting a post. once posted it is there for eternity. takes some getting used to. hope you're able to find whatever you are seeking here.

that is quite ok about there being no editing here, I think it is just what I need! I am not ashamed of any of my posts, past or present, edited or unedited. I do the best I can at the time. Sometimes my best is better than other times...... sometimes it is "good enough" for others, sometimes it is not.
Our best is all any one of us can do.
I am sure I will find some of what I am looking for here. I will be forever grateful for the life lessons you gave me, both "good", "bad" and "grey" in late 2004 and early 2005. One of those is the importance of cultivating a wide support system. My support system is much wider these days, and I am more clear on where I am progressing and where I am not...... and what I need to work on.
PS I do not understand your comment re honesty, nor do I wish for clarification :p I think ll gave an excellent insight into honesty though. Thanks again for sharing a little of your journey with me for a short time :D

thanks Dinah! I am so relieved there are no bombs here. I do not like turning on my computer to find I have received a bomb.... very scary :o(

thanks Phillipa! You can find other boards by searching on google. I used another name here for personal reasons of health and safety...... but as one of my issues is "avoidance" and I value honesty.... I do not believe I have ever lied online although some might believe otherwise.... their stuff!!... I decided to say (or imply) who I was. I hid who I was throughout my childhood and beyond. That is not a good path to personal "growth".

Well, to be fair. The stray bomb does get dropped now and again, but the civility rules are enforced. If you should receive one, there's a link for contacting Dr. Bob and the deputies in the FAQ, and I'm hoping Dr. Bob will put it on the window where you read posts.
What the civility rules don't allow is for you to characterize a post as a bomb or a poster as intending to hurt, just as a heads up.
Overall, it's the safest place I've found, for me. But it's a shelter, not a bunker, and whenever you're in the society of people, misunderstandings and a bit of jostling and bumping are bound to occur from time to time.
