Happy birthday cognitive science

Dammit... I ususally manage to find a link.
Today is... The birthday of the second day of a conference that was held at MIT on September 11 1954 (I think 1954).

That conference was the start of cognitive science.
:-)
And the reign of behaviourism was over.

Notable papers include:

Miller's magical number 7 (thats why telephone numbers are 7 digits long)
Chomsky... Something on superrules I guess...
Yeah, his critique of behaviourist accounts of language acquisition (poverty of the stimulus arguments)
Minsky on something or other (to do with artificial intelligence) and so forth.

I think that typically they do something to commemorate... But I appreciate that September 11 has a new meaning now...
