Sadly my oldest Daughter lost her l4 yr old cat her first baby when she got married to her husband. She did everything she could the Er vet at night and the day vet for days. He was diabetic and went into keto acidosis. Poor baby. I sent her Rainbow's Bridge I'll find a link to it you will cry guaranteed. Love Phillipa

I didn't even get through the whole thing! It's way to sad for me. I love pets. I miss my dog so much right now! I'm not a huge cat person though. When I was little I had a rather bad experience with my cat. She use to eat me... It was rather scarey for a little kid. We still have that cat. I'm actually very surprised she hasn't passed away yet...

When you have had a pet for that long, the loss is as acute as any people will ever experience.
Rainbow's Bridge just makes me bawl my eyes out over all the pets that I've lost - so I stay out of there.
I've often told myself that the next pet I get will be a parrot - they live up to 80 years.
Of course, I'm writing this with a cat in my lap. He just loves to play computer.
My thoughts go out to your daughter.

Maddie- how about a giant tortoise? They are very durable pets, if somewhat cold-blooded.
(((((fluffycat)))))
parrots are neat pets though. I just worry a lot about where they come from. Amazonia has enough problems without parrot poaching.
Awwwwwkkk! Lindenbluete wants a cookie!

Sorry to hog your thread Phillipa, but on this subject, that last person I went out on a few dates with asked me "Do you like cats or dogs?" Which I replied I did and had a lovely small one that brings a bundle of joy into my day. Then she say's "well...I can't stand it that people like animals so much and don't care for other people so much." I said "Wooooowww. Hang on here. There is A LOT of love to go around where I come from. I give 110% to humanity and those little pets I love." So, I supposed her range of emotions and such where very limited. That should have been my 1st clue..."This woman has issues!!" (I admit mine and stand up to them.). Ah well...live and learn.

Sometimes the smart money is on loving the animals and just leaving the people alone.
I REALLY hope you sent that woman on her merry way.

I know and I hope it's true as my Brandy I can picture him seeing me wagging his tail and jumping into my arms and licking my face. My first baby and I held on to him for l7years. A white lapsapoo looked like a maltese though. He was blind, deaf, had alzheimers, couldn't hold his bladder, walked in circles, was on valium, and had on three teeth and a hole in his palate I finger fed him. I just couldn't let him go. He's in an urn next to my bed with Sheeba little black toy poodle died the next year. But Brandy let me cry into his fur the whole time my Son was in Desert Storm where he became blinded. Without Brandy I couldn't have made it. Love Phillipa
