Ever want to be the opposite sex?

Posted by Deneb on November 13, 2006, at 23:54:56

I want to be a boy sometimes to see what it's like. I wonder if many other people wish this? I wonder if it's more common for girls to want to be boys rather than the other way around?

I wish people were asexual. Sex stuff makes society complicated. We should also reproduce by fission or budding, LOL.

I don't like having differences between women and men. We should be sexless.

Oh ya, while I'm wishing things, I should also wish for the ability to fly. LOL. Soar like the birds.

I wish I could be Emma Thompson. I think she's transcended gender. She's so lovely and real. (I still think sitting through Howards End and Remains of the Day in one evening is too much to ask of anyone though)

I'm just now realizing I'd rather be a woman. Too late really for a sex change. If I did make the switch I would be a rabid lesbian. I mean, some, full-pillow lesbianism might break out. I mean a real pillow fight. A nice pillow fight. Nothing like the male full-metal jacket version.

I like Steve Martin's character, the "Jerk's", response to the gender issue. When asked about his girlfriend's sexual intrigue with another man, he merely wanted, "to be in there somewhere" - anywhere! How beautiful, agender and transgender can you get?

I think Steve Martin gets that.

I know this can seem icky (well, not really) but in the spirit of Steve Martin's character in "The Jerk", can we work ourselves into the mix somewhere?

Yeah I'd like to be a (straight) man, if only because I think girls are nicer to look at (BTW I'm not lesbian) and they don't spend so much time fussing in front of the mirror - blokes can just pull on a sweater and jeans and if they're fit don't need to bother with anyway.

Girls, on the other hand, have to fuss about wearing 'nice' clothes, (yeah sure they can pull on sweats, but its not considered attractive, unless you're Angelia Jolie). They also have to fuss about blow drying their hair in the mornings, and applying 'no make-up make up'. It would be nice to be a man and not to have to *mess around* so much in the mornings.

And, I'd like not to have to give birth, suffer PMS and I would like to have easier organisms and statisically get paid more and have better career options than my female counterparts...

I'd also like to feel less threatened when out at night on my own.

Hmmm.... what else?

Yeah and I'd like to be able to eat more and not worry about my weight.

Mr Meri

I love being a woman, the only thing that sucks about it is the vulnerability. It almost feels as though we are at the physical mercy of men sometimes.

But that notwithstanding, now is a great time to be a woman in the "developed" world.

There are a lot more options for women now than for men I think.

If we want to work and have a career, we can. We can have kids if we want - or NOT! (Way to bring that reproductive cycle under control ladies - freedom).

We can cry, we can get angry, we can laugh.

We can certainly dress like men if we want, but men certainly can't dress like women!

It's just that darn disparity in physical strength.

Oh Girl, if you could see the outfit I'm wearing today! Schmokin'!!

I think it was Seinfeld that said if he could be a woman for a while he'd be at the dock waiting for the sailors to come in.

Yes. I hope next time i come back not f**ked in the head so if i come back as a man again then i won't be too f**ked in the head to be a woman.

As things stand i'd be a total mess whatever sex i was .
Transsexualism and being a no good emotionally dysfunctional fruit loop don't exactly go together
like vaginoplasty and a dilator.

I was born f***ed in the head and i'll die f***ed in the head.

Basically 'Was that it?' A few seconds of mutedly ephemeral satisfaction.

Yes Deneb,
but I haven't felt this way in a while. I do think it would be fun to be stronger and faster (on average...)

But I enjoy being sensitive to things that men aren't. I think that discerning subtle differences makes for a richer experience. (more shades of misery?)

And I'm happy I don't have to put on a raincoat when I want to go out and play.

I'm not really into fashion or make-up on most days. I would like it to be more acceptable for women to not deal with those things. Then again maybe I'm just a slob. LOL.

I too would like to not give birth or have periods. I wish I could have the body of a child for life.

Me too. I probably wouldn't have my eating disorder if I were a man.

Before I experienced being friends with a guy I used to think that men basically didn't feel emotions. I thought they were not sensitive, didn't get scared and didn't have feelings like women. Boy was I wrong!

I realized then that we are much more alike than I had thought. Sure there are physical differences, but I think we are more alike than different. If anything I was the insensitive and unfeeling one in the relationship.

I'm a heterosexual male but if I had my choice I'd be a homosexual female, and not just for sexual reasons.
