Thank you Kath, Phillipa, and all of you wonderful folks who have been so supportive. My Dad is, thankfully, now at home, tucked into his nice warm bed. It is *so* relieving to know that I am just a few feet away, in another room. He gets up to go to the washroom, and maybe to sit in the living-room a few times a day, for short periods. He has his little dog sit on his bed, at his feet. He got this really nice heart-shaped red pillow donated from the hospital he was at, to use against his chest when he coughs. (They taught him a special way to cough, get out of bed, move around, and such.) He is slowly but surely improving each day. They said a *real* improvement may take anywhere from 6 months to a year. All's I really care about is that he is in no pain, is comfortable, warm, and contented. I've taken over most of the responsibility at my parent's house, and I have no problem whatsoever with that. His doctor told him after, that if he hadn't had this operation done, he would have likely only lived another year. Sweet Miracle of Life....indeed! Thank you again, Kath and Phillipa for your post, and all, for your thoughts, prayers, "light", etc. My Dad gave me life, and now I was exhilarated to see him be given life in return.

I'm glad he's at home with your loving care. Don't forget to take care of yourself, too, ok?

Yes, I am still adjusting my meds, and it's been hard too. Returning to college at 37 has also been tough, but hey, it is worth the physical and mental (and dollar) investment.
Thanks...
Jay :-)
