Whenever I feel sick I always blame it on psych. Never allow myself to be sick as how could I be sick it must be me. Headache and tired and anxious too. Is there something going around? I also made minor med changes. What do you think how you feeling? Psych or otherwise. Sorry to sound like a big old baby. Love Phillipa ps don't know whether to push myself or give in to it. If I give in to it and it's psch afraid I'll never do a thing again. That would make me a quitter.

I've found that to be really common, it's difficult because getting sick can exacerbate depression symptoms, and also depression can make you feel physically ill.
I've definitely thought "Oh no time for a med change" and then come down with a nasty flu, and when recovered realized I was psychologically fine as well.
Antibiotics are another trial
I took Cipro and Bactrim, both of them knocked me into hellish depression, I needed them, but I had to really coax myself to take them.
All I can say is.. it's really tricky.
A lot of help huh?

when i moved to Texas, i had never had allergies. i got deathly ill and i thought i was depressed.
i stopped in the pharmacy for something and mentioned it to the pharmacist and he pointed me to the cheap OTC meds for the allergies and told me how to take them and for how long....voila! so, i now monitor my headaches closely and watch t.v. to see what is "big" that day.......
my dog died in 2001 and i thought i was major, major depressed as i progressively got sicker........it was Rocky Mounted Spotted Tick Fever. i almost died because of my impression that it was my depression.....
i think we have to be more careful with our thought processes......:-)

It's like if you went to the hospital and said you had a psych diagnosis all of a sudden that heart attack would become a panic attack. So much prejudice even in our minds. Love Phillipa

That is a really good example of how it can be confusing!!! Scarey.
Phillipa, I don't live near you, so don't know what might be 'going around' there.
It sounds like you might have something. I suppose you could always phone your doctor's office & ask if there's anything going around & if so, what are the symptoms. Sometimes, if I'm on the phone with my doctor's nurse about something else (like making an appointment or something) I'll ask her if many people are sick right now. If they are & they have the symptoms that I have, it feels reassuring.
I usually don't go to the doctor for flu/cold - type symptoms because often they're caused by a virus & the doc can't do anything about a virus anyway! If it's bacterial, that's different.
I always push Vitamin C if I'm starting to feel a sore throat; headache; tired, etc. And echinecea.
Several weeks ago, I began to take Astragalus (a herb). Before that, I was getting sick every couple of weeks!! Since taking it, I notice I'm not getting sick like I was!
I send hugs Phillipa. Hope you're feeling better today.
luv, Kath

I think it's probably best to go to the doctor, just to rule out that there is nothing physically wrong. I'm afraid I didnt do that, and I waited months before going to the doctors, blaming my symptoms on this or that and forcing myself to carry on as usual - it turned out I have Candida(of the stomach not the OTHER one, thank you!) It's spread to my chest now. Maybe that wouldnt have happened if I'd sought help earlier - I just didnt want to make a fuss. Oh, and Candida can cause spaced out feeling/mood swings/depression/weight gain etc etc....
I hope you soon are feeling better.
Kind regards
Jo
