BIGGIE winter stormmmmmmmmmm

Posted by Kath on March 1, 2007, at 16:07:10

It's snowing huge chunky lumps of snow - sideways at a 45 degree angle.

My husband phoned 2 hours ago - from his cellphone; on his way home early from work. He was travelling about 2 miles/hour!!

The radio-stations are FILLED with talk of this storm.

It's predicted to turn to ice pellets & freezing rain. I heard someone call in to a radio line 2 hours ago & say he was driving a big semi-truck on the highway & if he merely touched his brakes he started to skid & he said people were going fast, passing him! Lots of accidents tonight I guess.

I hate it when there's an ice storm. I don't mind driving in snow really, but ICE is awful.

Kath

PS - hubby just drove into lane safely.

:-))))

Me and my big mouth. Momma Nature obviously didn't like me blabbing about the deal we had. She fixed me right. I'm going to need physiotherapy after I clear that frozen mass the plows put up at the end of my driveway. My car does look pretty with all that ice on it, though. Lovely icicles off the mirrors. Blah!

You no why Canadians have such character? Winter. Our seasons are Almost Winter, Winter, Still Winter, and Construction.

The forecast is calling for temps down to -20 or so, within days.

I'm trying to smile about this. Really, I am.

What does that say about the English then? We get grey, damp Autumn, soggy, squelchy Winter, overcast, spitty Spring and a dry(constant hosepipe bans despite previous 6 months of rain) but not very hot Summer. The temperature seems to be between 12 and 22 degrees. Neither hot nor cold. Maybe that makes us level headed???

Oh yeah Larry - I forgot about your deal!

Oh dear! Wish I was near to help you shovel.

It was so mild here that by 9:30 a.m. all I had to do with the ice ON my car was chip a little & it all cracked & slip down the windows! YAY

Hope the shovelling doesn't cause too much aggravation for your arm.

I send gentle hugs, Kath

Jo - I don't know how I'd handle it if it only got that warm!!!!

I love high 70's & low 80's.

The way you describe your weather doesn't make it sound too enticing, but when I think that you get Spring so early with all the flowers, THAT sounds pretty nice.

Hugs, Kath

Hi Kath!

We are "havin a heatwave" here - yesterday was 42.4c, the hottest March day ever in Perth apparently! There is a big cyclone developing up north (Cyclone George) and it is causing some havoc in some of the mining towns. Very scary.

It is nice to see so many posts from familiar people....

Bye for now,
Deb.
