How 'bout them Cubs?
How 'bout that Lou Piniella? Hey, if the team disappoints, you can count on Lou to provide entertainment. I have fond memories of him ripping out a base and kicking out across the field in reaction to what he thought was a bad call. The man truly is in touch with his feelings!Meanwhile, our team continues to be the leader of losers!! This year we decided not to torture ourselves with season tickets, as it really is adding insult to injury.
Play ball!

That's a great team this year. Frank Thomas is incredible to watch, he makes it look so effortless.
OK, I better stop before the depth of my sports ignorance is revealed.....
I'm ready for a 7th inning stretch already.sp

No way. I ran from the ball - I thought we were playing tag!

I'm crazy. I love the Cubs. I have to admit, though, I'm just not quite there this season. We've (Chicago) had games cancelled because of snow and cold just about a week ago? Plus, I live with two White Sox fans and, for the amount of game-watching I actually do, I'm way outnumbered. They've already been to a Sox game (granted, it was about 40 degrees and I think they may be crazier than me).
Anyway, I am excited about Lou Piniella. I'm hoping he'll get some much needed drive into this team. My aunt is living her dream as a 68-year old usher at Wrigley Field and a lifelong fan. She deserves to see a great season.
Will you at least be able to go to some single games this year? I love going to watch games - well, when it's much warmer than 40 degrees (so you've got that going for you).
I was surprised to see your post to me. Very pleasantly surprised. Serendipity, right? :-)
You're so sweet and kind. I think I don't tell you that often enough.

Thanks for thinking of me.
Your friend in watching...not playing (the very thought makes me want to run - well, drive, I'm not at all athletic - to the nearest book or shoe store for some afternoon shopping)...baseball,
Laurie

I went to a Tampa Bay vs Blue Jays game because I wanted to sing "O, Canada." Either way, I won :-)
The ballpark is very close to where we live. A nice ticket scalper gave us his business card so we plan to go to some more games, definitely!
Take care,
sp
