I feel bad now. :-(
I'm such a loser.
My goal was to walk 30 mins everyday and say "Hi" to a co-worker. I accomplished my goals and my pdoc and I were proud.
To other people my goals are pathetic. They've accomplished so much more. I'm such a loser. I hate this. Now I'm gonna cry.

I can't talk about it here because it will just make things worse if I talk about it.
You can babblemail me if you want to know why I'm feeling so sad tonight. You'll have to keep it a secret though.

People all over North America did less than you've pulled off.
I've been able to have some clear thinking and I drove to the store and bought something to eat.
I can always do all sorts of wrong things in an extreme wrong way. To calm myself and just live and do was a big step, and I'm happy with myself, and I think you should be happy with yourself.
There are people who would like to belittle or mock me, and some people would like to offer platitudes such as "Why are you worried about what other people think?"
Yes, if I didn't care what other people thought, I would be free, as free as the most locked up maximum security solitary prisoner in a Colorado SuperMax.
Why would other people want to draw my attention by belittling my small goals or improvements? It seems counterproductive to whatever tiny little goals exist in their heads.
But keep up the good work Deneb, and sorry for the threadjack.

I think your accomplishments matter a lot; most of all they should matter to you. There are countless people out there who don't exercise daily, and you are improving your health by doing this, which will, in turn, affect many other areas of your life positively. I know you already knew this, but it amazes me how one seemingly small positive change paves the way for so many other good things that will come your way.
If I were to compare myself to others (many on this board I might add), I fall tremendously short when it comes to intelligence, talent, personality, education, etc. These things used to bother me a lot. I would think, why would anyone want to know or even care about me when they have done so much - they are probably laughing at me and my insignificant little accomplishments. So what if anyone did laugh? That is their issue, not mine. For years I have struggled with my inadequacies instead of focusing on the positive.
I am finally learning that every day that goes by that something, no matter how small, has been accomplished, is a better day.

Unfortunately I feel like Deneb. Seems like I accomplish something and something bad happens to counteract it. And I take l0 steps back. I used to be so competent and happy. Love Phillipa

Deneb, I hope you feel better soon. I think that making goals, whatever they may be, is a great sign of progress.

Hey Deneb*,
I think those goals are just about perfect for you. You did great to achieve them. I have a lot of goals right now too, but I'm not really doing much to make them happen. You have a plan and are sticking to it, and I find that REALLY really awesome.I'm really proud of you (if that makes any difference)
hugs,
