I've felt disturbed whenever I've seen Guiliani on TV, but it finally struck me why: he reminds me of the man who molested me as a child.
There's something in his face that reminds me of that man, very strongly. Every time I see his face on TV, I get a cold, creepy feeling up my spine, and a little voice in my head calls out "EVIL!" The idea of having that reaction every time I turn on the news for four years makes me hope that Guiliani does NOT get the Republican nomination. It really frightens me to think of having to deal with that kind of reaction for a full presidential administration.
Can anyone out there relate to this fear?

I can. My new department chair's appearance was a big trigger for me - to the point that I would start to tremble when he was near.
I had to face it because there was no getting around it. I mean, I couldn't avoid my boss and the constant trembling/avoidance/crying was really making me look bad.
Guiliani may very well get the nomination and you can't run from it for long.
A combination of mindfullness training and the old combination of "looking at pictures, looking at them live, and then holding one" (for me that meant scheduling a short meeting with him) worked for me.
In short, I can relate to the fear, but it is not an insurmountable one.

Yes, the lady down the street that is selling the houses for one of the builders in our neighbor triggers me every time I get near her. She reminds me of my mother in one of her rages...........
Last time she set off a panic attack that last most of the afternoon, and I had to go to therapy that way. :(
Course, they (triggers are getting worse these days).....what can you do...rsk

One of our babblers family is best friends with them and he stays at their apartment in NY. He's a good person . Too bad people trigger others. Phillipa
