How RU celebrating NY's eve?

Posted by Fivefires on December 31, 2007, at 21:43:48

Good riddance to Christmas. Santa gave me another brkdwn. Last one was 3yrs ago this coming March. I'm just beginning to clear the fog today and hope to rejoin society this coming week. Babble feature for the gorry details.

It's only 8:30 here. I'm planning to do something ... dunno what ... maybe some liquer in my coffee w/ a little whip cream -or- maybe extra butter and seasoning in party mix. I like to put Ch*ez-Its (Get Your Own Box!) in there too.

Happy New Year everyone!

Nothing too exciting. Some painting in a spare room, a couple of movies and cooked breakfast for dinner. This is the first New Year's I've spent alone. So far, it hasn't been too bad; but, it hasn't been too great either.

P.S. Anyone know how to get paint off dog? My old lady's tail came into contact with some. Perhaps I should give her an indian name....Painted Tail?

I'm having an inferiority attack watching Bourne (I almost typed Hourne, or horse, .. thinking about painted tail up there! Sorry J!) Supremacy.

Why does everyone want him dead if he doesn't know anything? And, if he knows something, why doesn't someone want him alive?

Don't tell me about #3 ... or I'll

'do something.'

(Was that the stupidest thing said in 2007?)

No?

Maybe it was ...

'Can you hear me now?'

No?

The best way to get a paint off a dog is to wait a few months. :)

We watched a movie, and I worked a bit. Then we took the broom and swept out 2007, with a thank you for being so much better a year than the three preceding, and welcomed in 2008 with wide arms and much hope and hopefully a fair amount of graciousness.

My son took over the broom this year, which is right and proper I think.

I've always hated to go out on New Year's eve for fear of missing this ceremony. :)

Besides, my family of origin used to throw a huge New Years Day party, so New Years Eve was always spent at home rolling meatballs and doing whatever prep work needed to be done. New Years Eve is associated in my mind with eggy meaty hands rather than with champagne.

Hubby & I are both fighting some virus so feeling sorta lazy. We'd gone for a forest walk in the daytime. We actually were still awake at midnight, but quietly commented on it & that was that!!!!

Maybe we're getting old!

luv, Kath

PS - sorry about your down stuff; hope you're much better.

A walk through the forest ... everything about it sounds like that first bite into a twinkie!(?)

TY 4 well wishes K. Feelin' better each day.

Some of you can really be counted upon to be here and be supportive, year after year. This sets such a good example.

It occurred to me in a quiet moment yesterday, a little humility and kindness are qualities I let slip away too often. Whoa! Not good. Not good at all. These are wonderful and important qualities. I've got to keep on top of them!

Today made resolution = I'll work on being less bothered by others thoughts or expectations of me, especially when they are w/o understanding, and, instead, appreciate my uniqueness and be true to myself (That one is probably going to be the hardest!).

Goodnight,
