Geez just left the fancy rich people's mall here and it was empty and employees were saying that one store only sold $125 dollars today. How are sales in your area and employment as most said they now shop on line. Do you also shop online? Phillipa

I don't shop online.
Someone told me very recently that the large Mall that's in the town next to mine had very few cars in it recently when she was there. That's the only comment or knowledge I have about it.

We have a lot of well known medical facilities. People come in from all over the world.
With the dollar so low, everything over here is a bargain to visitors - so the "good" stores are doing a booming business.

So it looks like I can't bankrupt my local mall by shopping online then?

My area is absolutely not typical. But the main mall in the area is so packed that I refuse to go there. The big box retailers are packed as well. I'm a big online purchaser because of that.
On the other hand, the two more upscale malls never did come back after Katrina, and I worry that they won't. Nothing sadder than an empty mall, however little I care for them personally.

Dinah I don't like Malls either like separate stores in ourside strip Malls. Could it be that the one Mall is packed cause the other didn't rebuild? Just wondering. Phillipa
