That title reminds me of a really, really great book by Saul Bellow. Its like you want to shout out..If you cant solve the problem come and tell me to my face Such a lotta pain on the earth. Well, Ive spiraled down and down and down, and now have come up for a bit of air. I think my problem is I am so damned confused! I dont know about doing this dating thing yet. I think I am just too dang weird. I dont like the hip or trendy crowd. I feel like a cross between Steve Martin in Lonely Guy; John Candy in Uncle Buck, and Tom Hanks in Forrest Gump.
So, if somebody can save me, Ill gladly pay you a nice sum of cash. :)

Someday you will bump into someone in an unlikely place and that will maybe be the one. But seriously so glad to see you back and up and feeling better. Was as bad time for you. Love Phillipa

Hey Jay - have you tried the 'friends first' thingie?
As in joining a group that interests you, meeting like-minded folks (females included) & maybe 'clicking' with someone.
I think it would take a TREMENDOUS amount of pressure off you; you'd KNOW ahead of time that you had something in common.
To me it makes absolutely NO sense to just look in the SEA of PEOPLE & hope to find a really good 'fit'.
Best of luck Jay. I wish you the best & please forgive me for always replying with the same advice!!
hugs, Kath

Jay, Kath has a lot of good points, and I agree. You will meet someone. Just do what you enjoy and you will meet people. Dating...the pressure to talk, to say the right thing, etc, I just don't like it. I'd rather be my natural self.
