I just bought a netbook! Woohoo! I haven't received it yet though. It's going to have 32GB solid state drive so I know it can't hold much.
OK, I'm new at this so I don't know anything LOL.
First, how do I get movies on the netbook? Can I put the movies onto a memory stick or USB flash drive or something? I'm technicially challenged. LOL
If getting the movie from DVD to file is complicated, is there a way to download movies? I don't want to steal them, I'd rather pay for them.
Thanks!

I'm in the process of backing up my home movies to an external hard drive so I can evacuate with them and so that I can edit them if I wish. I've got software to do it because a simple "copy" command won't work. There are external DVD readers if you need one. But it's only possible with things that aren't copyprotected. Most movies are.
You can generally buy or rent movies you can download as well. Amazon Unbox or iTunes, I'm sure there are others. It takes up a fair amount of space.

Thanks Dinah
I looked into Amazon Unbox and they seem to have iffy reviews. I have iTunes so I will look into that.
I hope they will work with the Ubuntu OS.

I don't use either of them often, but I've found both to be more or less equivalent in my admittedly limited use.
This is the end of the thread.
