Winter's almost over. It's autumn here, and the sun is already heading north. How long does your winter last? 9 months? It can't.

Jammer I'm reading "Dark Angels" by Karleen Koen (her well-known book is "Through a Glass Darkly".
This book was written after Through a....but it actually takes place before it.
I'm enjoying it. Takes place in the reign of Charles II & at present it's about events in his 'court'.
:-)) Kath
I love reading. Are you reading anything?

Hi Dec,
It lasts about 5 months!!!!! Feels like 9!!
My husband assures me that by mid-March the snow will be melting & most of it gone by early April. (I can't argue, since my memory is so bad!)
Thx for your kindness & for distracting me somewhat.
love, Kath

Thank you all.
What a lovely outpouring of support.
Thanks. I'm feeling a fair bit better. I'm trying to be positive.
Went to CBT tonight & they used an example from my 'check-in' to demonstrate how thinking about things in a different way can lead to different feelings!
But as to all you - what lovely people hang out here!
xoxo Kath

I am, indeed! In print, I'm reading "Mr. Ives' Christmas" and I've got three audio books going, "Siddhartha", "Hocus Pocus", and "A Distant Mirror: The Calamitous 14th Century". It's sort of a lot to juggle!

When I say look foward---I mean positive things with eager anticipation. I hope you find a way to block out the negative images of your son-----they are his problems now and he'll never learn if someone's always there to catch him--consciously or subconsciously---it will always be a crutch----an ace in the hole. Put on a coat and get outside for some fresh air and exercise---that's a good start. Plan that future!

I'm sorry you are feeling weary. Winter can be so blah. Right now here it is pouring rain and hovering around 35 degrees F. It's just too nasty to go out, so I'm working at home.
You give so much support to everyone here and are such a kind a loving person.
I hope these blahs lift soon.
Seldom.

~ ~ Hey Phillipa - most of the guys I know hug each other! Certainly my son & his friends all hug when they meet - regardless of male or female.
Oh I didn't know you had a cat. What book are you reading?

~ ~ Wise words. He's living with us so it makes it harder. I've done really well in my life becoming stronger, more assertive, more detached etc with people. Becoming less emotionally linked with my son feels like my last & biggest challenge. I think I'm doing not too badly, but when he's not doing well, it's still a biggie challenge! My therapist is helping me a LOT in this regard. So I feel that there's hope in that I have some good support happening.
> Put on a coat and get outside for some fresh air and exercise---that's a good start. Plan that future!
~ ~ again good advice. The getting outside part I can do. I'm not quite at the plan that future part yet.....when I think of our sometime-in-the-future move to the country, I think of all the junk that will need to be sorted through to weed out to move. However, I'm at least starting bit by bit to do it!

~ ~ ~ Thanks for that! VERY good words!!!!!hugs, Kath
