That's just the way herion dealers start off with junkies----give them the best S**t first. Next thing you know -your hometown will be a parking lot full of down and out folks working like dogs for minimum wage. mom and pop stores will forced out of business and their futures will be consumed by Satan himself. Check out the richest people in the world on Forbes list for the last several decades. I'm telling you--they'll want your grandkid's winter clothes before it's over. any monopoly only leads to a greater gulf between the very rich and the very poor and if they tell you they're helping the environment and the needy---you can bet your *rs* it's a tax right off contrived by a team of lawyers and Public relations --drinking martinis and watching the sunrise. do some homework if you value a fair shake in life.

so , if I understand correctly, you advocate child labor and animal cruelty in the name of comfort--to jog to Walmart and order your flatscreen.I hope it's a med change and not some hidden agenda coming to light that makes you spew racial mockery, make fun of the handicap(of which --by the grace of God--you could be one), I'm half expecting you to agree that if rape is inevitable----why not enjoy it? you have a wonderful looking bunch of kids who look up to you and it's my wish that your legacy will elevate itself to give them the gift of respect. whatever it is that is fueling your anger--I sincerely hope you take the time during your block and re-examine your outlook. If you really want something to change in life----be that change. that's what I did---spreading the word. that's why Walmart will never see or care about the big picture---and as always---that's only my opinion based on reasearch and real life experiences. I remember 1965 and it was no worse than 2009. Please don't lose your humor--just fine tune it. all the best

Wow, so you too have a fire deep down bobby, a side of you I've never seen. I appreciate
what you said, and I also meant to (three days ago) thank you for posting that. I always
patronize smaller stores, it's a little more expensive sometimes, not always, I may not be able to fight them, but I'm not going to make it any easier for them.Still.. it's disheartening when Michael Jordan
can say shamelessly that he didn't feel guilty
getting paid more in a year, advertising for Nike, as all the Nike factory workers combined,
because "He had nothing to do with it"

Bobby I understand your anger at your store of your family not making it if I read correctly. But I'm saddened to see your response to manic when he's blocked as he can't defend himself. Could you maybe apologize for this response and agree to disagree even if you feel this way. I just feel the person who is blocked has no way to defend their views or explain. I've been in the situation before and it hurts really bad to want to explain or whatever. I do humbly understand your hurt also. I'm trying to help and sincerly hope it's taken that way. Love Phillipa

I did not attack manic--only the principles involved. I have always tried to be pleasant with him(if you'd like to research). However, I will not apologize for speaking the truth, cater to those just because they disagree with my viewpoint, back down for what I beleive in, nurture insensitivity, or blow sunshine up anyone's a**. Manic is old enough and man ehough to defend himself if he repeatedly sets up the target --and -- the block of one week will not alter the course of history.Perhaps he cannot defend himself at present---but neither can the countless handicap people, abused children around the globe, people born of ethnic background beyond their control--or people such as myself with different musical tastes. We're all woven from the same fabric--and to suggest otherwise is an illusion. I appreciate and understand your attachment to many here---but your relationship is between the two of you and I'd appreciate my absence in further discussions. I wish you both no malice----but my part in this dramatic atory ends here.......

Save yourself Gabby! Don't let a r*dn*ck like me drag you down to the depths of the sea. Other than the economy bringing the truly insane out of the woodworks--trying deperately to generate revenue from thin air. I feel the best I've felt in many moons. No psych meds--2 yrs, working hard, wonderful family, quit smoking --2 yrs, don't drink, shower once a month:) I'm just deeply disturbed that the planet has lost it's moral compass in it's quest for El Dorado. However, just between us, I still cuss in heavy traffic.

I think if I wrote a careful post, expressing my views without taking pot shots, and then was told
I was "attacking " someone, I'd be angry. However, I think he just replied to you clarifying
why he said what he did, that's not anger, it's
correcting an incorrect and strongly worded accusation.

Bring me down?
Not even..
I actually didn't know you had anything to do with WalMart, I thought you were being purely socially conscious-they aren't mutually exclusive though.
I'm glad you're feeling better than you have in a long time.
Speaking of r*dn*cks..
Have you ever heard David Cross talk about the
"light up Atlanta festival"
it's really funny..

Please don't post anything that could lead others to feel accused and put down, even if you disagree with their point of view or because you want to speak the truth. Sometimes posting about truths - or what we sincerely believe to be true in any given situation - isn't civil under Babble guidelines. I think that's one reason why the FAQ include a reminder that "free speech is limited here."
If you or others have questions about this or about posting policies in general, or are interested in alternate ways of expressing yourself, please see the FAQ: http://www.dr-bob.org/babble/faq.html#civil
Follow ups regarding these issues should be directed to Admin, and should of course, be civil. Dr. Bob has oversight over deputy decisions, and he may choose a different action.

Thanks for supporting Bobby, but I'm going to ask you to please not post anything that could lead others to feel accused. Please help me out if I missed some words/phrasing, but I don't think Phillipa or anyone told Bobby he was "attacking," or made a "strongly worded accusation." I did see Phillipa mention her own feelings and suggest Bobby might apologize, which is what Dr. Bob has recently asked posters to do. (I do realize, that no matter how gently phrased, *by its very nature* there may be an accusation involved. It's logical that a poster must think a post, or part of a post, is probably uncivil, or else why suggest an apology? However, per the threads and posts that have recently been on Admin, it seems Dr, Bob sees that as okay [pretty much inevitable?] if we are going to encourage each other to apologize.... This may be a work in progress)

ps - If I myself am confused, utterly misreading this thread, Dr. Bob's wishes, or whatever else, I assure you, gabbi, I will be the first to beg your pardon....being a deputy when ideas, methods and practices shift, is *definitely* a work in progress for me.

...and for attempting to help and support both Bobby and manic. New ways of 'being' on babble are a challenge, and Dr. Bob's suggesting we encourage each other to apologize, I think, is a very new work in progress. I appreciate what I saw as your intention to do that...
There are going to be Babble-bumps in the road. Hopefully, we can all hold on tighter until the path smooths out again...
