And Calvin Borel, the winning jockey from both the Preakness on Rachel Alexandra and the Derby on Mine that Bird, is just so charming. :)

Exciting wasn't it? She's a beautiful filly.
The jockey seems to have ridden her often and known her well. You could see the affection.
Wasn't Mine that Bird quite a surprise too? I have to admit I thought his win in the Derby was one of those Derby upsets that often arise from having too many horses on the track, but his showing in the Preakness makes him appear to be a very strong finisher, and one of the better horses this year. That horse has legs or lungs or perhaps heart. He finishes with so much apparently left in him.

No, no money on it. I just thought it was an enjoyable race, and it's nice to see one of the female persuasion beat the boys. It doesn't happen often enough, yet, imo. :)

She sure is. I loved her coloring.

If he hadn't had to go SO WAY outside this time, I think he would have pulled off a double. Then of course the Triple Crown would be all the buzz. Is there a Triple Crown for jockeys? :)
