Seriously try google and the area with parenthesis around the topic you will narrow the search too. I've looked for support groups this way also. Phillipa

Try calling NAMI (www.nami.org) or the Depression and Bipolar SUpport Alliance DBSA. They both have meetings and support groups.

Hi, BearNCrow
A few more ideas:
MeetUp.com has groups.
http://www.meetup.com/search/?keywords=bipolar&submitButton=Search&jsCountry=us*can search MeetUp-LA for dual diagnosis.
Try CraigsList -LA, go to Community, then find Groups. Maybe do separate searches for bipolar, mood, dual diagnosis, & see what you come up with. I bet LA has a lot of resources.
Here's another org, DBSA:
http://www.dbsalliance.org/site/PageServer?pagename=support_findsupport- - - -
Thought I'd share what I found in CraigsList's Groups. Keep an open mind.
"We deal with spirits behind Suicide, Depression, Incurable Diseases, Alcoholism,..."
"\o/\o/\o/ INNER-HEALING, DELIVERANCE, Exorcism, Curse Breaking, ..Past Generations (Inherited Curses), Casting out Demons (Evil Spirits), ... Eliminating Legal Rights [huh? cult!], ..."
--hey, is this \o/\o/\o/ the sign of the horned one?
Seriously, if I were in a better place, I think I'd borrow a black dress, black nail polish, make a veil, adorn a hat w/ a raven (saw one next to the candycorn today) and show up to be exorcised. It's almost comforting to think that I just need to be de-demoned.
But, I think it'd shake up my psyche too much now. Can't even handle the Halloween aisle. The imagery plagues me.sorry about my tangents. I too have been looking for a bipolar or general MI group. Still haven't gotten out of bed in time to get to one.
Good luck w/ your search.
