2 weeks 2 days + approx 4 hours caffeine-free!

Posted by Kath on October 4, 2009, at 21:42:11

Yesterday I REALLY wanted a hot chocolate!

The tea thing isn't nearly as hard as I had thought.

And ya know what - I do think that I'm a bit less anxious generally than I used to be.

I can still get into worrying pretty easily, but I think there's a difference.

Kath

(& since I had sugar in my tea, I'm minus that sugar also)

Kath better add some healthy calories then as sugar adds up. And the water? Love Phillipa

That's a long time without caffeine!

I stopped drinking Coke zero for a long time, but recently I opened up a can and now I am addicted again. LOL I find myself drinking one or two every day.

Hi Phillipa,

Yes, The caffeine thing is going okay.
The remaining things are:

Drinking at least 8 glasses of water/day - & that's more of a challenge than not drinking tea.

Eating 3 good meals a day instead of just a teenie bit during day & then a good supper. Eating breakfast & lunch is still a challenge. (I feel embarrassed telling you that, because at least I can Taste my food & enjoy it, unlike you.)

Getting decent exercise.

Thx for pointing out the hydration point Jan.

xoxo Kath

When I was sort of bemoaning the fact of no tea, my husband said why did it have to be an 'all or nothing' thing? Why didn't I just have one once in a while. I do NOT think that woud work for me. When you had a Coke zero (does that mean no sugar?) were you addicted right away, or did you go some days without?
Deneb, do you remember how your thought processes went around that? Or did you even think about it?

:-) Kath

Coke Zero has a mix of artificial sweeteners that make it taste really close to the real Coke. I like it because it has zero calories.

I think I got addicted right away without really thinking about it. Once I drank that one Coke, the next day I just got another Coke without really thinking about it. Well I guess I was thinking that I just feel like another Coke. Now I have to make a conscious effort to not drink it, it seems.

Caffeine is highly addictive!

Thanks for that post Deneb, it'll help me when my resolve gets low & I tease myself with the thought that I'll just have a tea once a week or something!
