My family and I don't really celebrate Christmas. We used to have a tree and some gifts when I was little and it was certainly not religious. I miss those days.
Tonight I decided to put our artificial tree up, after years of not having a tree. I slowly brought the sections of the tree upstairs from the basement, only to discover I couldn't find the base for the tree. So now unless I find the base there will be no tree. :-(
I was looking forward to decorating the tree.
What a bummer.

But your own mini one and put it in your room :-)
That would be something.
If $$ is a concern, you could improvise. I once saw in San Diego the cutest mini Christmas tumbleweed. Lights looked great on it, and it was up on a table.
I'll bet you could come up with something even better....

>Look at the bottom of the tree. You may be able to put it into a stand designed for a real tree. There should be different styles of stands for sale all over the place now. Or you could try local thrift shops. You might find the bottom of someone elses artificial tree there (I've seen them). If the stand doesn't seem stable enough you can sometimes run support ropes to a large piece of furniture or a hook in the wall.

Do you decorate for Christmas at all? I don't have any decorations and that doesn't bother me, but my family is worried that it makes me more depressed. I just figure that the cat will decide any decoration is a toy and I'll find it in the middle of the floor anyway...

No we don't got rid of stuff when moved here and we are not home that much and two dogs and a cat? Phillipa no it doesn't depress me. My kids are grown I've done it so many times it's a relief not to have to.
