Stanford called yesterday to move my appointment from the 19th to the 20th at 1pm. Which wouldn't be a bad thing if I didn't have non-refundable plane tickets! I'm going to have to pay an extra $100 and rearrange all my plans (which took effort to make the first time when I was depressed). And the lady won't call me back to see if I might be able to see the other doc that I would rather see anyway just in case. I hate change and hate waiting, so this is a bad combo. I swear, doctors think they can just change anything!!! I hope this isn't a sign that I shouldn't be going!

Oh no!!!! That's horrible. I'd be more than upset. I don't think I could even travel alone let alone change the plans at the last minute. Can you go a day earlier? Hotel? I couldn't but you might be able to. Phillipa

Dear Peanut,
I just wanted to say I know how frustrating that can be. The numerous doctor appointments, money spent, and everything we have to go through. I hope things work out for you!

Wait a minute. Do they know you're flying out there and or did they just tell you about the change without realizing what a big deal it is? This just seems so very wrong. If they don't know the situation, I would definitely call them and explain. Maybe they can figure something out. Otherwise, how incredibly rude!
Either way, I would definitely explain to the doc what happened when you see him. Maybe he can make it up to you with a free follow-up phone consultation or something. Seems the least he could do after all the extra hassle and expense.

The doctor ended up changing my appt. back to its original date and time so I don't have to make any major changes!

Yep, January 19. I will fly out there on the 18th and stay in a hotel and have my appt. at 10am on the 19th. I will fly back later that same day and will post the results (hopefully they will be good!)
