Discovered the site, like so many others I would imagine, through The New York Times Magazine article yesterday. Am a member of Patients Like Me, also, but not finding it as helpful as I once did.
Dx is major clinical depression, general anxiety disorder, doing my best to manage with 'side-effexor', gentle exercise, yoga, meditation and still hang on to a demanding job.
See you on the boards.

I hope you find Babble helpful, Eclectic.
It sounds as if you have a balanced approach to treating your anxiety and depression. With a demanding job, it's even more important to take good care of yourself.
I have to admit that I never quite manage that, so I admire those who can.

Not this time! Merely honest. When I get stressed I reach for the easy soothers, which are generally very unhealthy.

Thanks for your welcomes- doing the best with the balanc thing but day-to-day it can be so arduous. "Soothers"- my husband's nickname for a G&T (Gin and Tonic)- I have to find a less appealing way to describe gin.
In a trough now, frustrated with the rolling wheel of the ups and downs, but reminding myself it's transient. And thoughts are just that- so been listening to a lot of music for a quick mood adjustment and meditating to stay present.
Haven't had a chance to poke around this site much yet, but hope to, soon.
This is the end of the thread.
