Dear Dr. Hsiung:
I am a corneal transplant recipient with PTSD. I am not
at all sure that the psychiatric staff at Kaiser
Permanente has sufficient experience with the use of
psychtropic drugs in patients who use cyclosporin and
have close angle glaucoma. My weekly chemistries are
borderline high on AST, low on albumin, high, sometimes
very, on BUN, and show an appropriate level of cyclo-
sporin absorbtion.I need medication to assist with going to and staying
asleep, but I am concerned that SSRIs and other anti-
anxiety drugs are contraindicated. I have uncon-
trolled, active close angle glaucoma. Are there any PTSD treatment regimens which I can use?
Are there any which should be avoided or used only
with extreme caution?Thank you very much for you consideration and
assistance.Denise Lai
