I've been in behavioral therapy with a LCSW for almost 8 years, off and on, and have used two prescribing MDs during that time. Main issues are depression, anxiety, panic attacks, and insomnia. Prozac quit working for me after about 6 years and I went on a merry-go-round of other antidepressents until I found one that seems to help (Celexa). Now my problem is that neither of the prescribing doctors will give me any medication (except mega-doses of antihistimines) for anxiety and panic attacks. They say benzodiapines are too addictive. I know Xanax (alprazolam) works for me because I used some of my father-in-law's when attending my mother-in-law's funeral out of town. Can anyone recommend a prescribing MD in the Tidewater, VA area who isn't averse to prescribing a benzodiazepine drug for panic/anxiety?
