Does it cause considerable sedation? Did it work for you? What are the main side effects etc. etc. I've also been here long enough to know the motto of the board: YMMV Thanks ever so much to everyone, and not just the ones that actually respond to my message. I have learned so much from all of you. It has been a pleasure to get to know ya'll.

> KendraDuring my first day or two I was frieked out over the daytime sedation and drugginess. But that disappeared in just a couple days. I learned to take it at dinner, or maybe just a little earlier, so that its primary sedation would kick in about bedtime and mostly wear off upon waking. Gained 5 pounds. There is still a drugged feeling upon waking, but it disappears within an hour and is replaced by daytime energy and overall improvement in mood and social comfort. The only other side effect was restless rubbery legs, which subsided after about a week. I think Zyprexa holds great promise as a mood stabilizer and an antidepressant all in one, perhaps even more so when combined with another antidepressant. Very respectable med with a wide therapeutic action, in my opinion. But of course, it all really depends on the person's particular chemistry and how well the med matches that chemistry.
