Wellbutrin sedation

Posted by Sara T. on April 26, 2000, at 21:35:37

I started taking 150 mg tablets of Wellbutrin yesterday and took it again this morning. Both times I got a lift for about two or three hours and then felt like I was sedated for the rest of the day, unless I added 15 to 20 mg of Ritalin. I thought Wellbutrin was supposed to be activating. I felt really out of it and as if everything were distorted. I had troubled saying things sometimes, it felt as if my tongue wouldn't move right and had somehow gotten thicker.

So I talked to my pdoc and he said to cut back to 100 mgs, and that it should be a passing side effect. Anybody else have this experience with Wellbutrin? How long before one gets past these side effects?

I am trying to find the right thing for depression, anxiety and ADD.
