> Hey all: I'm seeing a psycho-pharmacologist on wednesday and I'm still stumped for questions to ask. I have my symptom journal ready but I don't know what else to talk about. I'm told that this guy is very clinical and get- down- to- it like so I'm a little worried about wasting his time. I am suffering from anxiety badly lately and the depression seems to be returning too. I've been on 20mg of celexa for 3 weeks and I take Xanax for the panic 3mg a day. Ithe Xanax doesn't even make me sleepy let alone get rid of the constant nervousness and shakes. Any advice?? Even if it's just a list of meds that I can ask about or an explanation of what certain meds do for YOU. Anything would be greatly appreciated.

It's very possible you are having either an adverse reaction to the celexa or on too high a dose. I took 5 mgs of Prozac and my stomach ached with anxiety. At 20mgs the anxiety was running out of my ears. Don't be too quick to accept what the doctor tells you about the medicine if he is so certain it's not the celexa. Try and think clearly when this extreme anxiety started (I had real trouble doing this when the doctor told me it couldn't be the prozac). As soon as I stopped the Prozac the anxiety subsided. Also, in my case prozac did nothing for depression; you'll have to weigh the pros and cons of Celexa on your depression if you determine it's the cause of your extreme anxiety. I had alot of anxiety to begin with, but prozac put me over the edge.

Good luck.
