> After a year of testing out antidepressants, my doctor decided to try depakote. I haven't been taking it long but already notice my lack of attention span has worsened, and I'm afraid my school work is going to suffer. I also am extremely tired. Does anyone take Ritalin or aderol along with depakote? what about energy pills?
I too suffer from ADD and tried Depakote. It really did nothing in terms of relieving my ADD or my depression, for that matter. I recently tried lamictal and noticed an improvement in my cognitive abilities. I did also experience side effects, such as sleeplessness, which caused me to terminate its use. Perhaps it might be of some help to you. You may also want to try Ritalin or Adderall in conjunction with the Depakote as you suggested. The good thing about Ritalin and Adderal is that they are fast acting. You should know very quickly if they are right for you.
I know going to school and juggling medications can be so very stressfull. Hang in there my friend.
