I don't think you should let the term anti-psychotic scare you too much. I take Zyprexa for Bipolar II. I also experienced the racing thoughts and this med really made the difference in my life. I find it interesting that your Psych said she wasn't that concerned about the thoughts, they were my Psych's primary concern. Oh well, depends on the doc I guess. I take 2.5mgs at bedtime and have found that dose to be perfect for me. I'm certainly not an expert by any stretch of the imagination, but 10mgs seems like a high starting dose. But that's just my opinion, take it with a grain of salt...
Do you mind if I ask what your diagnosis was?

> My psychiatrist recently prescribed zyprexa 10 mg a day. She said it was to stabilize me, and that she was not that concerned with my thoughts ( I have racing obsessional thoughts at times, especially at nights). Ive been given another appointment with her soon. But I hear that zyprexa is antipychotic and that 10 mg is starting dose for psychotics. This scares me a bit. Is she not telling me something? I have since cut the 10 mg to 5mg.
