I have printed information about SSRI Discontinuation Syndrome and Brain Shivers (electric shocks) to give to my doctor. I hope he will take it into consideration before he prescribes Effexor for anyone else. I hope the next time someone pleads for help as I did, he will know what is wrong with them. I tried to taper off of the Effexor. I went from a pill a day to a pill every two days and then a pill every three days. The withdrawl symptoms are very intense. So I decided if I just go off cold turkey that I will only have to suffer for 3 weeks and not have to suffering slowly from tapering off. As for the twithing (Dystonia) is a withdrawl symptom. The MRI and EEG the neurologist did was not necessary and they did not find anything. As the twiching is a symptom of Effexor. Thank God, I thought I had Parkinsons disease or something like that. Again, I advise all to think twice before taking Effexor. Personally I am going to attempt to go the natural route for depression and anxiety. I have had enough of these prescribe drugs, in which they only make things more miserable.
