According to what I have read, the brands (any of them) are better, more consistent than the generics, and that once you use a brand, it is best not to switch around.

I have been on synthroid for about 5 years, and have experienced no problems with it. A friend of mine was on another brand (don't know which) but continued to have symptoms of hypothyroid despite being on a high dose. She switched to synthroid and got better.

I sure hope it doesn't stop being available. That would really mess me up.

Yes, I am aware of the controversies regarding the integrity of the study, and that they were grandfathered in, etc. but this smacks of being blown out of proportion.
