Please don't disregard this suggestion off hand but have you thought about getting involved in something like Chi-Gong or Yoga? They can teach you very relaxing breathing techniques and thought patterns that helped me a lot with my panic attacks. I had terrible panic attacks several years ago and the biggest help was definitely Klonopin but learning Chi-Gong was also very helpful in providing me ways to relax when I could feel the tension starting to build. I was able to fight off many panic attacks this way.
As others have said here, there is definitely a benefit to developing a relationship with your psych that goes beyond just getting the right meds.
