Depends on your particular "problem". For your basic uncomplicated depression, Wellbutrin is a good alternative to those who have problems with SSRIs, especially sexual side effects on higher doses. Wellbutrin is not, however, a panacea, it causes some side effects as well. Most predominant are: chest pain, insomnia and anxiety-panic-aggitation states. These can be mediated by commitant use of a benzo or other mood stabilizer to "take the edge off" as I say. Though the question becomes a dichotomy, when so combined, Wellbutrin is highly effective as a mood lifter. Just watch out for the Pdocs that want to give you an AP like Depakote to mello you out. Wellbutrin has a very narrow therapeutic window. 400mg per day is really the maximum recommended dose (check other WB threads, or see SalArmy4me, he has some excellent resource material on-line). It does take a few weeks to get used to, but I like it overall, and have been using it for over 2 years.
