> My pdoc specifically stated that I was to take Geodon twice a day, at 8 AM and 5 PM. I take 20 mg twice a day and it must be taken with food. He also said that it takes about 5 weeks for Geodon to begin working. I'm hoping to replace Zyprexa with Geodon and he told me to keep taking Zyprexa in combination with Geodon for the time being. I haven't had any problems with this and I'm taking 5 mg of Zyprexa 6 hours before bedtime.

My pdoc equivicated about when to take my pills and then decided that I could just take two( 40 mgs total) in the AM. I like that because I am afraid I will forget to take my second dose. I am wondering if taking all the medication at one time makes any difference? Thanks, ColletteThanks for your response. I will try to spread out my doses as I seem to become very sleepy shortly after taking all the meds in the AM. Because I am always fighting insomnia, he was trying to keep my doses earlier in the day, but I will try the 5:00pm dose and see what happens since I am up 1/2 the night anyway! I wonder why Zyprexa worked so fast and Geodon takes so long? I wish I could have stayed with the Zyprexa as it was a wonder drug for me except that I was well on my way to becoming a blimp and I truely could NOT control my appetite at all! Collette
