small dose elavil with effexor xr for sleep??

Has anyone ever used elavil at 25-50mg for sleep with effexor xr and does it work or are the two together harmful. I am currently taking remeron and zyprexa at night for sleep and have gained too much weight. Any possible solutions would be so welcome. I have tried trazadone and it does not put me to sleep. Ambien works but dr. does not want to prescribe that regularly. Thanks
