I recently started working again for an old boss who is a sole practitioner (attorney). He agreed to pay the premiums for any disability insurance I got since I couldn't participate in a group disability policy. I had to jump through hoops to try to get this insurance. This insurance isn't cheap - about $2,500 a year. I did put down my previous pdocs (except for one). The one I'm seeing now wrote that I suffer from mild anxiety and depression. I don't have depression, and never did. I've only seen this guy 5 times, so why he would write that I have depression when I don't take depression meds (only take Neurontin and 1 mg. of Xanas) is beyond me. Should I become mentally disabled (unlikely), the payments would only last for two years. Anyway, I was turned down for disability insurance because I have recently seen a pdoc who seems to think I'm depressed. It just doesn't seem fair. I have mild anxiety - I'm not mentally disabled.
Sorry - I'm just frustrated and I don't where this post goes. Nice to see you guys again. Hi, Dr. Bob. Good to see that you're still helping folks, Cam. You're a sweetheart.
