I'm not an endurance athlete, rather a strength athlete, but I can share some experience that may be relevant to an endurance athlete... Selegiline, while it is an activating AD, tends to make me short of breath...I've heard other people say this as well so I'm pretty sure its not a fluke. I don't think that most AD's are going to hurt you much at all...since respiration and keeping one's heart rate are important to an endurance athlete, I think it might be wise to avoid the MAOi's (which tend to cause overreaction to a given stimulus...unless you are very anergic, in which case they would be a good idea) for a while and try the SSRI's, and some of the atypical antidepressants first... All in all, you will have to do experimentation to find what will work best for you...what are is your diagnosis?
