Please help me! I'm new to the disorder of cyclothymia. I've taken ADs (Luvox & now Celexa) for the past few years and in the past 6 months have "cycled up" into a definite hypomania twice. So now my pdoc thinks it is imperative to add a mood stabilizer to the mix. I'm reluctant to drop the AD. Off all the bad choices Topamax seemed best to me because I'm very afraid of gaining weight (whole other story). I've also dropped my Celexa from 20 mgs to 10 mgs.
Now the prob. is my eyes slightly hurt. I know eye probs can be a side effect of Topamax but I'm only taking 25 mgs at this point. Could that low of dose be causing my eye pain? Could it be the reduction in Celexa? It is just like a dull aching.
Any input on the whole Topamax, cyclothymia topic would be so appreciated!
Thank you!
Kim
