Definitely. There's still lots more to be learned though. If by sensitivity, you're referring to easily upset or hurt, or easily irritated, or even easily moved to sadness, sympathy, or anger, serotonin all plays a role in almost every emotional state. That's why medications that affect the regulation of serotonin have such an impact on a person's emotional moods.

We'd be oversimplifying things though if we just looked at the serotonin connection. There's quite a few other neurotransmitters involved & even hormones like oxytocin which has been nicknamed the cuddle hormone.
