> Hi all, my p-doc just put me on nortriptyline. My question is does nortriptyline have any effect on seritonin? The info i find is confusing some suggest it does - some say no. Anyone know for sure?

It has very little serotonin reuptake inhibition in the rat neurons, mostly norepinephrine. It has a moderate post synaptic serotonin effect, I believe on the 5HT-2 receptors. Who knows what it does in the human brain. Some people think it works at the nucleus of the cell changing mRNA synthesis.

Any particular reason you were interested serotonin effects of pamelor?
