I take Serzone at night for anxiety and sleep, so I drag a bit in the morning. And this has been about three years. Exercise has always helped, but I'm not always into it. Now I need to lose weight, and I'm much more committed. (Bad choice of words--committed.)
I have to walk my dogs every morning after I drop my daughter off at school, so I drink a cup of decaf (can't take caffeine--migraines) and go. I use my dogwalk time to racewalk two to four miles. Then I come home and eat a half a banana or an apple and take a multi-vitamin and a mega B complex.
The B complex addition has been just in the last three weeks. I have felt terrific since the second day of taking it. I am mega energy. I feel like I could go go go. At the same time, though, if I lie down on the bed in the afternoon during my daughter's nap, I'm asleep in minutes. So if a chronic insomniac with sleep-related anxiety can fall asleep in the afternoon, we're not talking about getting hyper here.
Chocolate and coffee are great pick-me-ups, but the first doesn't last that long for me (sugar buzz), and I can't do caffeine anymore (maybe you can't, either).
Good luck to you. I hope this wasn't preachy. I'm always wary of perky folks who say exercise and vitamins, yippie! But I'm not a perky folk! I'm just your average almost-forty, 10-pound-overweight, married babe with a similar problem.
