The closest thing to neurosurgery that I would consider is DBS, and I have thus far chosen to try other things first. If they get really good at identifying hyperactive tracts in the brain, perhaps a partial ablation of a locus like Brodmann area 25 would work instead of needing the implantation of electrodes.

At the moment, I am happy with my choice to avoid having an anterior cingulotomy for all of these years.
