Seems pretty unhelpful to rate posters' responses. For one thing, what's helpful at one moment, may not be helpful at another. I don't see the value in rating answers-- I mean if it's helpful, great--if not so helpful, why make a point of it?
I guess it has a lot of potential to hurt people's feelings imo without much usefulness to those whose posts were somehow less helpful. I mean, how does it help me to know that my thoughts on an issue weren't helpful to someone? As long as I'm civil and do my best to be helpful, it seems that I've done all I could do. Knowing it wasn't helpful might discourage me from trying again--with anyone, not just that particular poster.
I've seen sites that do this-- but I don't really get the point, even where it's just a translation or something.
