Integrative Medicine

Posted by SusanB on February 23, 2004, at 12:26:04

Five months ago, I started working with a doctor of integrative medicine for treatment. I'm a bipolar II treatment resistant rapid cycler and I've surived 100 bipolar depressions in the last 35 years. We're trying the following vitamin and mineral regimen: Vitamin C (1000 mg), AntiOxidants (2 daily), Ginkgo Biloba (1 daily) Omega-3 Fish Oils (2 daily), Vitamin B50 complex, Vitamin B6 (500 mg), and a multivitamin. In addition, I'm walking 3 miles on a daily basis, doing stretching and relaxation exercises, playing the ukulele (a great form of music therapy), and taking two baths a day (Aromatherapy). I can't tell you all how much better I feel. It's almost a miracle. I was symptom free for four months. Three weeks ago, I suffered a mini-depression and had to go back on Adderall (20 milligrams) but hope to taper off soon.
