Dear Beppe,

It can be very tricky to discontinue Effexor. It is really important to do this under your doctor's supervision, as you must proceed slowly to avoid withdrawal side effects (typically nausea, vomiting, headache, dizziness).

I'm not sure what to make of this bingeing; it is not something I've heard of before as a withdrawal effect of Effexor. However, I can imagine that if lowering your dose is either causing withdrawal side effects OR allowing for a resurgence of your previous anxiety or mood symptoms, that may well affect your eating.
