Hi,
I have a brother who lost a lot of weight over the years due to an eating disorder. He is obsessed with preparing food many times a day and eating the "proper" foods- no carbs (grains, fruit, etc), only chicken or meat and vegetables for every meal, plus lots of food supplements.
He was never overweight to begin with, just obsessed with "healthy living".
My brother is severely underweight and has developed several health problems but refuses to seek advice from any conventional physician, dietician etc. There are several internet sites which encourage such eating habits. He follows their advice blindly and ignores the resulting deterioration in his health.
Any expression of concern or advice to seek help result in an angry denial that he has any kind of problem and a refusal to speak to the "offender". We have tried to convince him for years without success and have been told by many that there is nothing we can do unless he agrees to get help.
Any advice?Thanks,
Nellie.
